Steve's Stables is happy to welcome you!

Steve's Stables offers intimate rides; never more than six riders, and only $25/person for a one hour guided trail ride.  Steve has lived on Pond Mountain for more than 15 years, and is an expert identifying all the flora and fauna.  Steve's Stables house very sweet and gentle horses.  Well behaved 6 year olds can ride Steve's horses safely with parental guidance.  The Pond Mountain  trail is a 2.2 mile trail across the top of Pond Mountain, known to be the highest point in the county.  Ride past the natural ponds, down the southern loop train, heavily wooded and cool in summer with great views in fall, winter, and spring.  The rider will  usually see local wildlife, especially  deer--including our albino deer and her family/offspring. Appropriate attire is recommended includes long pants, if possible, to avoid chafing and closed toe shoes (very important for foot safety).

Steve will be happy to take your pictures on horseback and we recommend that you NOT carry your camera.  Steve's Stables trail ride on Pond Mountain is a gorgeous ride; and family after family have said that Steve is not only very informative but also is GREAT with kids!

By the way, guests of Pond Mountain Lodge and Resort receive a 20% discount!  Please call to make reservations.  Reservations may be made two days in advance.
